WEDDING RING EXCHANGE

The Wedding Ring Exchange takes place after the Wedding Vows, physically solidifying your commitment to one another. The first portion of the Ring Exchange consists of a short introduction by the Officant, followed by each partner placing the ring on the their beloved's left hand while repeating after the officiant. Below are a number of ring exchange verses to customize your ceremony.

Wedding Ring Exchange Introduction Read by Officiant

Traditionally, lovers have exchanged rings as a symbol of their love and commitment to each other. Your wedding rings are a symbol of the unbroken circle of love. Love freely given has no beginning and no end, no giver and no receiver for each is the giver and each is the receiver. May these rings always remind you of the vows you have taken and the promises that have been made.

May I have the rings please? Holding the rings in the palm of his or her hand, the officiant recites the blessing.

The circle is the symbol of the sun and the earth and the universe. It is a symbol of holiness and of perfection and of peace. This ring is a symbol of unity, in which your two lives are now joined in one unbroken circle.

_____, please place this ring on ________'s left ring finger and repeat after me:

The wedding ring is the outward and visible sign of an inward and spiritual bond which unites two loyal hearts in endless love. It is a seal of the vows ________ and ________ have made to one another today.

Bless these rings, that ________ and ________, who give them, and who wear them, may ever abide in unity, love and happiness for the rest of their lives.

________, the rings you give and receive this day are the symbols of the endless love into which you enter partners for life. Such a love has no beginning and no ending, no giver and no receiver. You are each the beginning and the ending, each the giver and the receiver.

As God is a circle whose center is everywhere and whose circumference is nowhere, so let the seamless circle of these rings become a symbol of the timeless dimension of unconditional love.

May the presence of these rings continue to remind you of the eternal love and devotion you are to share with one another from this moment onwards. May the beauty and perfection of these rings remind you of the beauty of your togetherness and the perfection of this union you are sanctifying in this perfect moment.

Wedding Ring Exchange Verses for Couples to Repeat

I, ________, with free and unconstrained soul, I give you all I am and all I am to become. Take this ring, and with it my promise of faith, patience and love, for the rest of my life.

What have I to give you, ________? A ring and more than a ring: the promise to take you as my only love from this day forward, to stand by your side, to listen when you speak, to comfort you when you cry, and to join your laughter with my own. Take this ring and be my partner for life.

________, you are the one with whom I can share all that I am. Take this ring as a token of my love. Let us live our lives together from this day forward.

To marry the person you have set your heart upon, is a joy unparalleled in human life. ________, take this ring as a sign of my faith and my commitment to our love, and share this joy with me today.

________, I only have one way and that way is with you. Come health, happiness and prosperity, I will stand with you. Come illness, trouble or poverty, I will stand with you. Take this ring as a symbol of my love and commitment. Today, I become your partner for life.

Throughout human tradition, when you make a pledge, it has been deemed good to have a token to remind you of that pledge. For this purpose you have chosen rings.

They are appropriate to the task because they are circles never ending, like the promises you make to each other today. And they are made of precious metal, never to be tarnished, like the love you express before myself and these witnesses. Please place these rings, and honor each other in their giving.

For thousands of years lovers have exchanged rings as a token of their vows. These simple bands are not of great value in themselves, but are made precious by our wearing of them. Your rings say that even in your uniqueness you have chosen to be bound together.

Let these rings be a sign that love has substance as well as soul, a present as well as a past, and that, despite its occasional sorrows, love is a circle of happiness, wonder, and delight
